Strength, precision & protection
Cannons supply strength, Spyglasses supply accuracy and Hull Plates supply defence. Clear skill requirements and stronger Cannon and Hull Plate bonuses help you plan your equipment.

- Cannons provide strength and require Power. They no longer add accuracy.
- Spyglasses provide accuracy and require Attack. Their accuracy values match the previous Cannon accuracy values; Spyglasses no longer add defence.
- Cannon strength and Hull Plate defence bonuses increase by 10%, rounded up to the next whole bonus point. Hull Plates still require Hull Defence.
- Existing equipment is retained. Its bonuses apply only when you meet the current skill requirement. The wiki and stat builder use these same rules.
Game 0.13.9 is live. Restart your client or reload the browser game to receive the equipment update. The illustrations are our original T5 item artwork, used as visual references rather than gameplay screenshots.
For example, a Common T2 Cannon changes from 7 to 8 strength, a Common T2 Spyglass provides 8 accuracy, and Common T2 Hull Plates change from 15 to 17 defence.
The increase applies to each item bonus, not your total damage or defence. Rounding up means small bonuses can increase by more than 10%. Because Spyglasses lose their defence bonus, your combined equipment defence can still decrease.
The required levels remain 1, 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 60, 80 and 100 for tiers 1 through 9. Cannon uses Power, Spyglass uses Attack, and Hull Plates use Hull Defence. These requirements also govern crafting, scroll application and recycling.
Saved or transferred equipment does not bypass skill requirements. An item remains yours, but its bonuses do not activate until its required skill level is reached.
Sails keep their existing speed bonuses and Power requirements. Hull Plates add defence, not maximum Hull HP.
